Follow these steps to change your ID.iowa.gov password.

  • Enter your email address at https://ID.iowa.gov.

  • Click the "Next" button.

  • Enter your password.

  • Click the "Verify" button.

NOTE: If you selected to add an authentication method, you will follow the prompts provided.

  • Click your name in the upper right hand corner.

  • Select Settings.

  • Go Security Methods.

  • Locate Password.

  • Click "Reset".

  • Click "Yes".

  • Enter your "Current password".

  • Click "Verify".

  • Enter your "New password".

  • Re-Enter your "New password".

Passwords must be at least 12 characters and cannot contain part of your username, first name or last name. There are no other restrictions. You can use more than one word with spaces to get to 12 characters. Try using a phrase or a series of words that is unique to you.
NOTE: Your ID.iowa.gov password should be different from passwords you use for other accounts such as your bank account or email. Using the same password for many accounts makes identity theft easier.

  • Click "Reset Password"
